Who helped Serbia?
We wish to express our gratitude to people from other countries who came to help Serbia and its population in the most difficult moments. We want to find their traces, document their biographies and, wherever possible, find their descendants.
Invited embassies
For the first aim, documented aid to Serbia, we have invited the embassies of:
- some thirty allied countries
- countries that were on the other side of the war
- Balkan countries whose fate was similar to Serbia’s
- some distant, significant states, even though they did not take part directly in the Great War
We follow each embassy’s response and record it beside the country.

A complete overview of aid
One of the key aims of the conference is to compile, on the basis of available historical sources, as complete an overview as possible of all forms of aid given to Serbia during the Great War: military, medical, humanitarian, material, financial, educational and other.
Particular attention will be paid to the people and organisations who gave that aid in person, and to documenting its scale and significance. We keep an orderly record of the response of every institution, Serbian and foreign.

What we want to show for each country
In time we want to show, for each country, what aid was given, when, to whom, where and on what scale; which institutions and organisations took part; which notable people were involved; and which historical documents confirm it.
Each country follows the same sequence: country, aid, people, documents, sources.
